What is the Long Tail?

It is easy to say that to make a website successful all that needs to happen is to build a few pages of unique content, add a few meta tags and internal links and the website will be ranked number one on Google for big single phrase search terms.


Content also has to be not only to make your website an online authority; it also has to be built for so called “long tail” phrases. This is the content that has lower searches per annum than single phrase search terms but has a higher propensity to convert into a sales lead. As a whole, the long tail will always generate more content than a single word phrase.
