Is LinkedIn still LinkedIn with no politics?

The social media platform LinkedIn is currently testing a ‘no politics’ feature that blocks any political content from a user’s feed. The change is driven by consumer’s decreasing tolerance of the prominence of political posts online. A 2020 Pew Research Centre survey found that 55% of Americans are “worn out” by political posts and discussions.

CEO Ryan Rolansky stated that the platform will determine is a post is ‘political’ through its “editorial team”, “semantic filters”, and community feedback. Restrictions include content referencing “political parties and candidates, election outcomes, and ballot initiatives”.

Currently, the feature is only being tested in the US, but may be made accessible for other users if successful.
